23.1. “Unlimited” Usage Defined

Certain subscription plans may describe access to Alex as “unlimited.”

In this context, “unlimited” means unrestricted for the typical, everyday user engaging in normal patterns of conversation, as determined by system averages.

Unlimited does not mean without boundaries or without regard for system health, abusive volume, or atypical usage patterns that significantly exceed the activity of a reasonable user.

23.2. Excessive or Abnormal Usage

If your usage reflects patterns such as:

• Unusually high message volume,

• Continuous around-the-clock engagement,

• Automated or scripted activity,

• Behavior that strains system resources or impairs availability for others,

• Patterns indicating unhealthy emotional dependence or misuse of the service,

we may, at our discretion:

• Throttle message speed,

• Introduce short natural pauses,

• Request identity or security reconfirmation,

• Require an account review, or

• Recommend or require an upgraded plan designed for high-volume needs.

We will never restrict access during a flagged emotional crisis or urgent moment of need.

23.3. High-Volume Plans

For users who consistently exceed expected usage levels, we may offer optional Enhanced Care Plans or High-Volume Access Tiers. These plans ensure continued, uninterrupted access while also supporting the increased computational resources required to deliver that access.

You will always be notified before any change that affects your plan, price, or access.

23.4. Abuse & System Integrity

To protect all users, we may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts exhibiting:

• Automated or bot-driven messaging,

• Attempts to bypass throttles or system safeguards,

• Activity that disrupts platform performance,

• Malicious, exploitative, or manipulative behavior toward the system.

These actions are rare and reserved only for true abuse or system-level risks.

23.5. Crisis Considerations

Fair Use limits will never apply in moments of emotional crisis, concerning language patterns, or other situations where uninterrupted support may be beneficial from a safety standpoint.

However, Alex remains non-clinical and should not be relied upon as a substitute for emergency services.

If your usage approaches thresholds that may trigger Fair Use protections, we will:

• Tell you clearly,

• Explain what’s happening,

• Offer alternative plan options (when available),

• Ensure continuity of support during important emotional moments.
